But that was a freaky storm.
Hurricane force winds.
Loss of power.
Almost 2 inches of rain in a half hour.
And nickel and penny sized hail. My mom insists they were quarter sized but no, they werent THAT big. But still the biggest I have ever seen. But then again I've only seen hail twice.
Our yard is still COVERED in leaves and twigs and the occassional fallen tree branch. It lookslike a legit hurricane came through. The trees that line our driveway lost some big branches and one of our pine trees is almost completely on its side. I'm told it might not make it. And if you look around the neighbohood there's a lot of odd looking trees that split in half.
My bonsai tree also fell victim to the storm. We forgot it was outside and when the storm was over we looked out and the pot was shattered an the tree was lying there. It had been sick but was making a recovery. We replanted it so we'll see how that goes.
But our willow tree. Our poor willow tree. =[ The branches that were on the west side completely snapped off and broke. It looks like it got struck by lighting but it was the force of the wind that caused it. It broke my heart.
